What this site publishes about your schooland what claiming the listing does, in plain English

flightschoolcost.com publishes a page for every 14 CFR Part 141 certificated pilot-school location the FAA lists with a usable address: 720 locations across 51 states and territories in the list dated 24 Aug 2026. The page exists whether or not anyone at the school ever visits it, because the FAA's list is a public record and this site is a directory of it.

We did not ask schools for the data and we did not buy it. Every fact on a listing comes from the FAA AV-Info "Find a Facility" dataset (US government work, public domain), captured 28 August 2026, with nearest-airport distances from FAA NASR effective 6 August 2026 and coordinates from the US Census geocoder. Nothing on a listing is a review, a ranking or a recommendation, and no school can buy its way up any list.

What claiming gives you

Claiming is free. It lets someone at the school add what the FAA record does not carry. Everything you add appears in its own block, dated and labelled as supplied by the school, below the FAA facts and never mixed into them.

Free text is checked before it is published: no ranking or endorsement claims (“best”, “leading”, “award-winning”), no price figures in the description (link your own pricing page instead), no links in free text, and nothing untrue or misleading. A first edit is read by a person before it goes into a build.

What claiming never changes

The FAA record. Agency name, designator, air agency certificate number and holder, listed address, city and state, locations on the certificate, nearest public-use airport and distance, and the snapshot date are reproduced exactly as the FAA published them, and only the FAA can change them. If one is wrong, correct it with the agency and this site follows at the next refresh; tell us and we will flag it in the meantime.

Claiming also does not move your school in any list. The state pages list every certificated location alphabetically. A school that buys Featured placement gets a labelled box above that list, and the list itself is unchanged.

How we check it is really you

We send a single-use link, valid for 30 minutes, to the email address the FAA publishes for your location, and nowhere else. The FAA record carries an email for a minority of Part 141 locations. Where there is none, email questions@flightschoolcost.com from an address at the school's own domain and a person checks it against the FAA record before sending the same link.

We keep the verified address while the claim is active, to sign you in and to send notices about the listing, and for 90 days after you release it. We never publish school email addresses on this site.

The badge, and what it is not

A claimed listing shows “Listing managed by the school”. That means someone at the school keeps the school-supplied parts up to date. It is not a verification, approval, accreditation or endorsement by this site or by the FAA, it says nothing about training quality, and it does not indicate VA approval or eligibility for federal student aid.

Corrections, removal and enquiries

Corrections are free and do not need a claim: email questions@flightschoolcost.com with the designator and what is wrong. If your certificate has been surrendered or amended, tell us and we will reflect it ahead of the next FAA capture.

This site sends no student enquiries to schools, and no tier includes them. Claiming is not consent to be contacted by us or through us. Readers who want a quote are pointed to your own website and published pricing.
